Miriam B. Pollard (Hanner), Program Manager for the Office of Women's Business Ownership of the United States Small Business Administration, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education and equality.

Ms. Hanner has dedicated her career to providing equity between small and large businesses and barriers concerning women. She initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in health education and community health from North Carolina Central University in 1991. Upon graduation, she began her career as a cancer information specialist at the National Cancer Institute at Duke University until 1995 and a math and environmental science teacher for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction at the Research Triangle Institute from 1995 to 2009. Thereafter, she returned to North Carolina Central University to earn a Master of Public Administration in 2012. Over the course of her career, she has found notable success as a contractor and coordinator for the Maryland Department of Social Services, a science teacher for the District of Columbia Public Schools, a substitute teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools, a business development specialist for the Minority Business Development Agency and a program analyst for the United States Department of Commerce.

In her role with the United States Small Business Administration, Ms. Hanner manages 40 out of 135 women's business centers and oversees grant applications, reads briefings, conducts bi-weekly meetings and provides feedback and support. Moreover, she assists the director in how to bridge the gap between what women earn in business against their male counterparts. Supplementing her professional career, she has also exceled as a program manager for the United States Federal Government since 2015. Looking toward the future, she aims to pursue a career in suggestive therapy in an effort to help people realize their best selves while relieving them of pain that locks their progress. In addition, her goal is to work with underprivileged girls to help them set goals for their futures.
