- Cyber Security is the protection of data through computer science and systems; eg - virus protection, testing servers to check for weakness that could allow hacking, encrypting data transfer.
Cyber awareness is the user themselves building strong behaviors that protect their data on their end. eg - strong passwords and two factor authentication, being aware of computer behaviors (for instance if malware has been installed), realizing that online data is permanent. Cyber safety is a collaborative process, making sure that what we do post, or say, is thoughtful and considered as a digital footprint, making sure we act ethically in our actions, and being aware of devices and what we do. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QhU9jd03a0
I quiet like the 'crash course' videos and how informative and fun they are. This video I would probably show to older students however, but if I was to introduce networks to younger students, the activity of the name-tags and ball of string sounds like a really great and interactive way to get the class engaged! - As an activity for students to learn about Private and Public information sharing, I like the idea of there being 2 sides in the classroom, split into those two categories. Then all the students will be labeled something from either of those two sides (eg - full name, date of birth, favourite colour) and the allowing the students to think about what side they belong on, and picking. Then at the end we could get everyone engaged in deciding what is correct and what is incorrect.
