Create or find a classroom resource that teaches students about creating strong passwords, passcodes or passphrases.

You could plan an activity with students where they take turns suggesting passwords they think are common. Make sure background information is explained as to why these passwords aren't secure so students have a better understanding. You would then compare the common passwords suggested by students and input them into a website called howsecureismypassword. This website then calculates how long it would take for someone on a computer to crack your password. I would then ask the students to complete the activity a second time but to create a new password that includes capitals, numbers, and special characters that would be input into the howsecureismypassword website to give them a new estimate on how long it would take for someone to figure out their password.
