1. Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or to what extend do you think they should be taught and why?

Cyber security refers to the protection of online data while cyber safety refers to the protection of users from online content that may be harmful to them. Cyber awareness refers to the knowledge of threats, risks, and how to protect themselves from harmful content.

It is critical to teach these in a classroom setting as more children are exposing themselves to social media. Personally, I think that in the Primary level, cyber security, safety, and awareness should be taught with equal importance. However, awareness would be the first step to educating children about staying safe online. The children do not necessarily have to be told what type of content they might be exposed to, but the importance of protecting themselves should be stressed.
