Jacques Cruyt, t; Romain Vandriessche, tb; Rudi Balliu, cl; Emanuel Sayles, bj, vocal; Paul Gevaert, b; Jean Pierre Roelant, d. A true New Orleans musician and a European band that has its heart in New Orleans.
Jun 21, 2022 This Lp was recorded on 11th October 1969 made when Emanuel Sayles was touring in Belgium. The Cotton City Jazz Band : Jacques Cruyt, t; Romain Vandriessche, tb; Rudi Balliu, cl; Paul Gevaert, b; Jean-Pierre Roelent, d, with Emanuel Sayles banjo and vocal. The excellent sleeve notes are by Barry Martyn. The relaxed style of this band was commented in their performance of Doctor Jazz which I have also uploaded. This track too has a wonderful tempo; New Orleans in Brussels.
