Why can't you [hit, achieve, break past] _ pounds?
This is a loaded question with several underlying questions.
Let's dig into it!
- You can.
More than likely, it's a question of whether or not your plan is appropriate.
Does it follow the principles I always talk about?
Does it set you up for Consistency, Inclusion, Individuality, and a happy Journey?
- Is it realistic?
This is the 'R' in S.M.A.R.T. Goal setting.
I've spoken to many lean people who want to get even leaner.
I've spoken to many people who want to lose 30 pounds of fat in 30 days.
Pushing too far in either direction is neither realistic nor safe.
- How willing are you?
You must give something up to gain something (such as a transformed body).
What will you give up to get where you want to be?
If you're unclear about this, it could be why you're not getting there.
Suggestions:
Look for ways to add healthy, whole foods.
For fat loss, 1-2 pounds per week is realistic if starting from an obese state.
On paper, write down what you are (and are not) willing to give up.
