This week we reported that issuance of Rule 144A catastrophe bonds could now break the annual record before the end of the first-half of 2025.
With wind season officially underway, there were no new offerings to report on this week, but other cat bonds still in the market have upsized and priced down.
Everest is now targeting as much as $1bn of coverage from its latest Kilimanjaro cat bond sponsorship.
Vermont Mutual secured its largest cat bond yet, 25% larger than the original target and with lower pricing.
While, Convex raised the target for its new Hypatia deal by 50% and also targets lower pricing for the issuance.
Also of note, speaking during an Artemis webinar the CFO of Florida Citizens revealed some details of its reinsurance renewal, of which cat bonds and collateralized provide even more capacity than before.

In other stories this week, a survey by Schroders found that institutional investors pick ILS as one of the best income yield opportunities.
In an interview, the CFO of SV SparkassenVersicherung (SV) told us that the company is eying future cat bond sponsorships, having completed its first recently under Liongate Re DAC.
Jamaica has built on its parametric disaster insurance for 2025, with its cat bonds remaining a core component.
The CSU tropical meteorology team maintained its forecast for an above average hurricane season, citing a low chance of El Nino occurring.
