Myth 1: If you lift weights you’ll look like a bodybuilder or Crossfitter. It takes years of constant, intense efforts to look like the people you see competing in those sports professionally. Novices, moderately, and formerly fit people will not transform into the Wolverine by adding basic strength training. Myth 2: Lifting weights is bad for your back.Lifting weights badly (with poor form) is bad for your back. Lifting weights properly is great for your back! Myth 3: You need to spend 60-90 minutes in the gym.Not only is this not true, but I see lots of people spending 60-90 minutes in the gym and barely making any progress, primarily from either poor programming, being distracted, or both. The amount of time you should spend in the gym is goal and availability dependent. I have killer workouts for people who have anywhere from 5 up 75 minutes. Yes, I said ‘5’. Myth 4: You need lift to weights.Although I strongly recommend lifting weights in some form for most people, this is not true as a blanket statement. You can absolutely get very strong and fit using bodyweight (calisthenics) only. Myth 5: You’re going to feel uncomfortable in the environment. In my experience, feeling uncomfortable in the gym is one of the BIGGEST reasons people don’t go or stop going. Remove this barrier completely. You can workout anywhere. If you love the gym - great. If you don’t, click the link below and I’ll help you figure out other options. ⚡️ Coach Matt Thanks for reading!
