In the catastrophe bond market this week, we reported that Swiss Re has secured its new Matterhorn Re deal at a one-third upsized $100m and with reduced pricing.
We also revealed that a further $31.3m of Eclipse Re private cat bonds came to light.
In addition to which, we also saw a new Artex Axcell Re $15m Kettering notes issuance, that took private cat bond issuance year-to-date to $512m.
Swiss Re announced a merging of its ILS manager brands under SRILIAC, with the combined unit to be led by Mariagiovanna Guatteri.
We also explained that the Florida Retirement System Pension Plan has put specialty and quota share ILS strategies in its portfolio pipeline.
The initial review of our Monte Carlo executive roundtable reports on executives saying ILS sentiment is positive, but stressing the need for alignment and transparency.
In other stories this week, the UK Bank of England is exploring how its ILS regulations and the iSPV structure could be used for life and pension related alternative capital deals.
