When a thought arises, we’re tempted to think that there was a ‘thinker’ who created it. However, if you practice paying attention to your thoughts arising and disappearing, eventually you may notice that there isn’t. There is no one preceding your thoughts. No ‘Wizard Of Oz’ in your head, generating thoughts and churning them out as if on a thought machine. They simply arise, all on their own. Why does this matter?
