The answer is: the same amount as non-gluten-free cookies. A cookie is still a cookie. It’s Always The Dose!If you’re highly active, lean, & muscular, and you eat a calorically balanced, well-rounded whole-foods based diet, a few cookies are good. It doesn’t matter if they’re GF or not. What matters is that the overall diet is great, and in fact, I would argue that an occasional cookie in that example helps the person stay compliant. But if the bulk of your diet is already comprised of processed foods, or out of caloric balance, then ‘a few cookies’ just tip the scales further from good health. Gluten-Free Does Not Mean ‘Healthy’!Leaving the vague definition of ‘healthy’ aside for this email, ‘gluten-free’ does not mean healthy. An apple is GF, and it’s still an apple. A GF cookie is still a cookie. It’s a dessert. Not a license to eat more cookies. There are many healthy foods that are GF. There are many unhealthy foods that are GF as well. Just like all foods. Almost 20 Years of GF!I haven’t eaten gluten since 2007. Why? Because it doesn’t agree with me. I filmed a 3:45 video about this. If you want to learn more, click here to watch it. ⚡️ Coach Matt |
