On getting 'lost in space'.

We all do it sometimes.

On the train the other day, as most people had their eyes fixed down on their phones, I wondered:

What if every second that we are lost in our phones is a lost opportunity to connect with ourself, someone else, or the true, wondrous nature of the world?

This neither a novel thought, nor a judgment.

Many books have been written on the topic.

I’m pretty good about not getting ‘lost in space’ - but I do too.

I don’t have ‘the answer’ to this problem.

It is daunting & epidemic.

To me, the key word is ‘lost’.

If you’ve forgotten the specific purpose you took the phone out for, you are lost.

If you’re using the phone to get lost from something, it will still be right there when you get back.
