My coach asked me a great question the other day. He asked me, “Matt, why is it so easy for you to do what you do?” I said “Well, I’ve been doing it for so long, it’s just a part of who I am now.” Then he asked me, “But, what about in the beginning?” I paused and admitted that in the beginning, it was NOT easy at all. It took me a really, really long time just to make a few baby steps. Plus I also took MANY backward steps during that time. Then he asked me, “Matt, if I were there, right now, where you were back then, why should I get up off my couch?” My answer came right away. I said, “Because that’s a short path to a quick death.” Now, I know that’s a hard thing to hear if that is where you are. But, it is true. It is also true that one baby step can lead to many, many more steps forward and completely change your life. It won’t be easy at first, but it WILL get easier. I know, because I’ve walked that path.
