New data shows AI both creates and exposes critical vulnerabilities.

AI-generated code is accelerating development at an unprecedented scale. But what is it doing to your attack surface? The findings are clear: while AI offers powerful new efficiencies, it is also introducing new patterns of risk. The data reveals a 36% year-over-year surge in high-risk vulnerabilities—flaws that are both highly severe and highly exploitable (Figure 3). This trend highlights how the rapid adoption of AI is creating new exposures that demand immediate attention.     At the same time, security debt now affects 82% of organizations, an 11% increase from last year (Figure 1).
