Brazil's ILS ecosystem continues to build

(Ariel SSPE) will be the third insurance-linked securities (ILS) structure in Brazil, harnessing the country’s regulations to become an independent issuer of Letra de Risco de Seguro (Insurance Risk Letters), Brazil’s own brand of ILS instrument. Earlier today we also reported that broker Lockton Re is deploying its advisory and structuring capabilities to unlock the Brazil LRS market for domestic cedants and institutional investors. Ariel SSPE, which will be one of the SSPE's Lockton Re expects to utilise, now makes it three Brazilian LRS issuers registered under its brand of insurance-linked securities regulation so far, while there have already been four LRS transactions.
