Here's our latest Friday wrap-up of key news from the week.
Early Bird tickets for Artemis London 2026 are selling fast.
In the catastrophe bond market this week, three more deals joined the pipeline for settlement prior to the end of Q2.
German insurer Gothaer launched its debut, seeking €100m of flood reinsurance from a Yardstick Re cat bond.
Achmea returned, also bringing European perils to market, targeting €75m of windstorm protection with a new Windmill III Re deal.
Arch Capital also came back, with a new $100m Ramble Re issuance.
In addition, we learned that Allstate had placed an additional tranche of cat bond notes last month, securing $30m of lower-layer protection which we assume is for Florida.
We reported on a new Japanese Yen denominated private cat bond issued by the Artex Axcell Re structure.
Meanwhile, The Hanover secured its 100% upsized Commonwealth Re cat bond this week.
The California Earthquake Authority also priced its new upsized cat bond, securing $425m of reinsurance.
The Massachusetts MPIUA is now targeting lower pricing for its still $150m Mayflower Re cat bond.

In other stories this week, Howden Re said abundant capital, accelerated softening and broader terms helped clients at the mid-year renewals.
Swiss Re named Martin Zingg as the new head of its Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) division.
The Florida State Board of Administration said it may reduce its property cat ILS exposure, as it continues to diversify within the asset class.
The target investment allocation range for the Mt. Logan quota share structure Scenery Re was raised by PFZW / PGGM.
Catastrophe models have been called out as failing to account for so-called “supershear” earthquake events, by MS Amlin.
Cedar Trace hired well-known industry executive Chris Wilson to its insurance-linked securities leadership.
Executives said Gallagher Re's new Arthur Re platform demonstrated how it can deliver on efficiency and speed to market with Oak's debut cat bond recently.
