Here's our latest Friday wrap-up of key news from the week.
Artemis London 2026 early bird rate now running low.
The cat bond market is now in its hurricane season lull, with the pipeline currently empty.
Hannover Re priced and finalised its latest 3264 Re cat bond, which we reported on Monday had upsized 60% to $200m.
Artemis was first to report this week that the World Bank has begun work on a project to deploy a parametric quake cat bond for Nepal.
We also took a look at the quarterly records that were set in the cat bond market in the busy second-quarter of 2026.

In other stories this week, we revealed that Fermat Capital Management has now reached a new milestone of $11bn of cat bond and ILS assets under management.
Gallagher Re reported that global nat cat losses of US $46bn for H1 2026 was around 28% below the 10-year average for the first-half.
KKR-backed Kilter Finance and Blue Owl Capital capitalised WoodStar Reciprocal Exchange to provide dedicated underwriting capacity through the Accelerant Risk Exchange.
Reinsurance sidecars remain a key theme in 2026, with third-party capital deployment holding broadly stable despite a rapidly evolving landscape of perils and structures, according to Aon Securities.
As the global protection gap continues to widen, closing it is no longer a question of mobilising more capital, it is a matter of engineering entirely new markets, Gero Michel of Montauk Capital explained.
VP Bank's Bernhard Allgäuer highlighted how ILS investments can provide portfolio diversification ahead of an expected super El Niño.
