This week we reported on a near miss for Mexico's World Bank cat bond, as an earthquake occurred that was just slightly below the magnitude required to trigger one tranche of its notes.
Two private cat bonds came to market, a $14.94m Seaside Re issued by Hannover Re's Kaith Re structure, and a $60m Series FE0004 issuance from Artex's Axcell Re vehicle.
Cat bond market growth has been running at a 15.5% CAGR since 2021, according to Swiss Re.
Cat bond and ILS company registrations in Bermuda were buoyed by first-time sponsors through the first-half of this year.
