This week we reported on AM Best's first reinsurance reports released in advance of the Monte Carlo RVS (our team will be at the event and hope to see you there).
AM Best said reinsurance is at an inflection point, noting that the key question now is whether irrational competition emerges.
The rating agency alongside Guy Carpenter also forecast that third-party capital is expected to expand to $130bn by the end of this year, by their figures.
Vantage Risk's third-party capital partnerships business under the AdVantage structure earned $23m in ILS fee income in Q2.
Insurer Zurich revealed a $1bn quoate share reinsurance arrangement to support its data centre risk underwriting.
While Allianz projected that the data centre insurance market could grow to exceed $24bn by 2030.

Hannover Re expects property cat price reductions will begin to decelerate now that rates have come down for two consecutive years.
Catastrophe bond seasonal spread tightening gained momentum in July, according to Plenum Investments.
UCITS cat bond funds had a strong July, averaging a 1.15% return across the group.
Samoa's adaptation plans call for a region catastrophe bond for the Pacific, as well as more parametric risk transfer.
Losses from US severe convective storm activity has ramped up in recent weeks, while Gallagher Re estimates US SCS losses are over $35bn YTD.
