The truth of the matter is that:
- There isn't a significant enough difference made by consuming protein or carbohydrate immediately after (or before) a workout in muscle growth, except possibly in some very rare, professional athlete-type cases.
- What matters far more for you, the average person, is simply eating enough protein throughout the day, and exercising regularly.
