NIGERIA
The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, has revealed that they are yet to receive monies meant for Super Falcons' players from world football governing body, FIFA.
Each member of the Super Falcons' playing staff are entitled to sixty thousand dollars for qualifying for the second round of the just concluded Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking on the Super Falcons' entitlements from the 2023 Women's World Cup, NFF's Director, Media, Ademola Olajire, said the federation settled all the players' entitlements before the World Cup.

Nigeria Football Federation NFF, should use home-based players for the last group game of the 2024 African Cup of Nations' AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
Nigeria will host Sao Tome and Principe in their last AFCON qualifier in Uyo tenth September.
Speaking on the game, Former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, said since the team have already booked their ticket to the AFCON, the coaches should start working on discovering more home-based players to be injected into the main Super Eagles team.

Nigeria Professional Women's League champions Delta Queens lost one-nil to Ghana's Ampem Darkoa in the final of the WAFU Championship at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, on Thursday.
Ophelia Amponsah fired home the decisive goal for Ghana following a counter-attacking move.
Delta Queens failed to find the equaliser in the second half despite a long period of pressure on the opponent's goal area.
The hosts also missed out on a place in the CAF Women's Champions League following the defeat.

Rangers players have successfully undergone mandatory medical tests ahead of the start of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The test exercise is in fulfillment of the League requirements for player registration for the season.
The exercise took place at an unnamed medical facility in Enugu under the supervision of the team doctor, Dr. Wen Udorji.

The 17th edition of Lagos State inter-agency football competition, known as 'HOS Games' will commence 8th September, for the play-off catagories before the full tournament.
Seventy-four male categories and thirty-two female categories from Ministries, Departments and Agencies and all Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas will participate in the Competition.
Vice-Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Richard Ogbe, says the competition is to engender and foster the spirit of sportsmanship in the State Public Service.
The competition will take place at four venues; Agidingbi Primary School, Dairy Farm Primary School Agege, Isheri-Olowo Ira and LASUTH.

Brume, a three-time World Athletics Championships (indoors and outdoor) medalist, is seeking to become the second Nigerian to compete in the final of the Diamond League meeting.
