Here's our latest Friday wrap-up of key news from the week.
This week, more new catastrophe bonds emerged, including a debut transaction from Sutton National Group.
SafePoint Insurance returned with another deal under its Nature Coast Re series, while SageSure also returned with its latest Gateway Re issuance.
Japanese insurer Sompo Japan also returned to the cat bond market with a $150 million deal, as Florida Peninsula Insurance returned for its second cat bond.
Meanwhile, Flood Re increased the target size for its debut cat bond, as Heritage secured its targeted $200m Citrus Re Ltd. (Series 2025-1) deal at lower pricing, and American Integrity secured its largest cat bond to date.
Also this week, sources confirmed that FEMA has halted preparatory work for a planned FloodSmart Re cat bond issuance.
We also reported that Artemis' data shows that the Q1 cat bond issuance record has already been broken.
RenaissanceRe officially launched its first UCITS compliant property cat bond fund strategy.
MLC Asset Management launched a new multi-manager ILS fund offering.

In other news this week, Pool Re secured another increase in size to its retrocession program.
It was also revealed that Japan Post Insurance is considering making an investment into a reinsurance sidecar-like co-investment vehicle to be sponsored by Global Atlantic Financial Group.
Plenum Investments reported that the overall yield of the cat bond market stood at 10.44% at the end of February.
Elsewhere, Arch Capital's Voussoir Re sidecar listed a new series of 2025-3 preferred shares.
This week also saw the ILS Advisers Fund Index report a -0.38% return for January 2025 on the back of the recent California wildfire losses.
James Bolding, the new CEO of Gallagher Securities, told Artemis that now is a really exciting time to be in the ILS space.
