An older couple in their 70s often sees me training in my garage gym. They stopped to ask me, “Matt, I heard about kettlebells. Are they better for me than dumbbells?” Of course I explained that ‘it depends’ and that it’s less a matter of ‘better or worse than’ and more a question of what you are trying to accomplish. However with that in mind, I showed them how with just one kettlebell, they could become stronger, more mobile, and more stable in every real-life activity that actually mattered to them, such as:
