I’m not an expert on intuitive eating. It is it’s own ‘dietary philosophy’ that some people specialize in and live by. For some people, it’s enough to guide their entire diet. If that’s you, great. Here are my two cents: For most people, it’s difficult to know what your body needs simply by feeling or intuition. Especially if your ‘signals’ are not clear. For example, if you are obese (this is most of America) and/or eating a diet full of highly or ultra-processed foods (this is most of America) then you are not in a great position to improve your health just by ‘listening to your body’. I know because that was once me. However, over time, with a lot of practice, and as my health has improved significantly, I can confirm that I am much better at feeling, intuitively, that my body needs more or less of something right now. Even with that said, I still give in to old eating behavior patterns sometimes. So it’s a work in progress which I do not recommend most people fully rely on, without any other guidelines in place at all. Connect with me: LinkedIn | Instagram | YouTube | X | Coaching Community |
