I sang religious songs hundreds of times growing up, but those were not prayers. Prayer is not reciting a melody. Prayer means surrendering to a higher power. To pray is to have faith in something other than yourself, no matter the outcome. Singing is great. And, you don’t have to be religious to pray either.
