This week a new catastrophe bond offering for SageSure entities began, with the Gateway Re 2025-3 seeking $100m of hurricane season coverage for two reciprocal exchanges.
Everest secured the upsized $1bn of protection from its new Kilimanjaro cat bond deals.
While Ariel Re secured the upsized $150m from its latest Titania cat bond deal.
In addition, Mercury lifted the target size for its debut Luca Re fire cat bond to as much as $150m.
Plus, a private cat bond emerged from the Mangrove platform operated by Marsh and Guy Carpenter.
We also reported on the breakdown of Florida Citizens mid-year reinsurance renewal, with cat bonds, ILS and collateralized markets taking 87% of the total.
This week we announced the first wave of speakers for our upcoming Artemis London 2025 conference.
Also this week, ESMA delivered a view on whether cat bonds sit well in a UCITS fund structure, suggesting a new structure could be developed for alternatives.

In other stories this week, the Swiss Re Insurance-Linked Investment Advisors Corporation (SRILIAC) team has cleaned less liquid and private transactions from the GAM Star Cat Bond Fund portfolio.
Kingstone grew its reinsurance tower 57%, with its debut catastrophe bonds assisting with the expansion of coverage.
AXA Group has brought together its reinsurance buying, including for AXA XL.
Jefferies analysts said large hurricane losses in 2025 are unlikely to firm reinsurance as much as we saw after 2022's storms.
Bernhard Allgäuer of VP Bank said ILS investors "have reason to be optimistic" heading into the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
Brookmont Capital Management highlighted the way cat bonds stood firm in the face of global market volatility.
