It is July 4th here in the USA - one of the biggest weekends for ‘falling off the wagon’ when it comes to diet, fitness, sleep, and health. Your ‘wagon’ depends on where you are in your health journey. Wherever that is, whether you have barely taken any recent steps to be more fit, or if you are quite fit and have exhibited long-term consistency, or somewhere in between, holiday weekends such as this are the perfect time to intentionally enjoy some extra flexibility, relative to your non-holiday habits & patterns. Now, if are at a place on your journey where extra flexibility is not likely to be intentional, meaning that engaging in certain eating or drinking behaviors might lead you to overly indulge to a place of discomfort that is not aligned with your goals, then it is perfectly OK to abstain from such behaviors for now.
