This week the only new cat bond deals we covered were two private issuances from the Artex Axcell Re structure in Bermuda.
Analysts at J.P. Morgan said that cat bonds are not the main cause of pricing pressure, saying it is competition from the traditional market that weighs on reinsurance at this time.
Hannover Re is set to launch a new Bermuda based ILS platform, under the Hannover Re Capital Partners name.
The cat bond market has assumed more wildfire risk already in 2025 than in any full prior year.
Insurance-linked securities (ILS) is the "best asset class from a diversification perspective," according to private bank and asset manager VP Bank AG.

In other stories this week, Cedar Trace has hired well known ILS executive Patrick Witteveen to lead business development at the firm.
Swiss Re has taken over at the top of AM Best's ranking of the world's largest reinsurers under IFRS 17, with Berkshire Hathaway taking the top spot for non-IFRS 17 reporters.
Mike van der Straaten, CEO of Antares Global, highlighted that while the property retrocession market is "buyer-favourable" at this time, capacity remains somewhat constrained.
AM Best also said that reinsurance remains profitable, despite being softer than last year.
Ben Fox, of Members Capital Management, explained how its fund opens up the private reinsurance market to investors who previously had no exposure to this asset class.
The life re/insurance sector continues to embrace the sidecar structure to utilise complementary third-party capital from investors, Fitch explained.
