Lots of people think that sugar is devil, carbs are the enemy, vegetables are out to kill you, and fruit … well, eating fruit is treason. Viewpoints like that are dangerous. They typically lack context, cherry-pick their evidence, and prey on people’s fears. There are some people who need to watch their sugar or fiber intake, or avoid certain foods, for various reasons. But the vast majority of Americans do not eat nearly enough fruits & vegetables. And if you’re an athlete, well, eating 2 or 3 servings of fruits in one day might not be enough.
