There’s a lot of confusion out there about carbs. People think they ‘have to cut carbs’ to lose weight. Or that ‘carbs are the enemy’. Or that ‘blood sugar spikes are dangerous’. Or that if they eat a plate of salmon and broccoli then they’re not eating any carbs. Or that whole wheat bread has fewer carbs than white bread. Or that they should go keto and only pay attention to their Net Carbs, not total carbs. The list goes on and on, I’m even a bit confused writing this! We eat food, not carbohydrates. Different foods have different amounts of protein, fat, & carbohydrate. Practically speaking, we need all three of those to live a healthy life. Yes, you can live for a while on just 2 out of 3. But eventually, you’re highly likely to run into some (potentially serious) trouble doing that. For most people, it’s best to keep things simple. Eat a well-rounded, well-balanced diet, and without having to overthink it, you will achieve … … a healthy balance of all three macronutrients. Men’s Group • LinkedIn • Instagram • X |
