Here's our latest Friday wrap-up of key news from the week.
This week Jamaica returned to renew its catastrophe bond, seeking $150m of protection from its third World Bank facilitated issuance.
We reported that the World Food Programme is progressing a plan to sponsor its first cat bond, which would be the first for a UN agency.
Travelers returned with a $500m target for a new Long Point cat bond sponsorship.
Pricing new cat bonds and securing their coverage this week were: Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp.; Convex Insurance; and Palomar Insurance.
USAA upped its target for its latest ResRe cat bond to $825m, its largest ever.
While Mapfre Re is aiming for reduced pricing for its new cat bond deal.

In other stories this week, John Seo of Fermat Capital Management LLC believes onshore United States options for cat bond issuers would be beneficial.
The UK government announced legislative reforms to promote flexibility and innovation in ILS in the country.
Gallagher highlighted a notable rise in ILS investor interest and sophistication after its latest survey.
Simon Wilson, CEO of Markel Insurance, said he is concerned about the competitive tendencies of certain MGA’s that are backed by sidecars and private capital.
Allstate has secured its largest occurrence reinsurance tower ever, as well as a new $1bn aggregate excess protection.
RenaissanceRe reported a 209% increase in fee income from its reinsurance JV's and ILS funds for Q1.
While Nephila Capital’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund management revenues rose 59% in the first-quarter.
