As expected, the first month of the year was packed with cyber incidents that impacted some of the most important companies in the world. At first glance, we see that WhatsApp was sanctioned with €5.5 Million over breaking privacy laws when handling users' private information, the US-based company that owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell was hit by a ransomware attack which led to data theft, and researchers warned of rise in spyware attacks targeting banks.
