My last few posts I’ve talked a bit about things that don’t work when it comes to nutrition and diet. Here’s what does, at least, according to the process I’ve developed with many clients over the years:
For most people, this means with 1 or 2 very simple tasks that you can actually stick to with 95% certainty. There’s plenty of time to build up your skills. There is no need to rush. You didn’t gain all of that weight overnight.
Most people do not need to follow a meal plan 90-100% of the time. In fact, trying to do so will almost certainly backfire. That kind of rigor is only needed for those with high-level, semi-professional or professional fitness goals. If you’re mildly obese, 80% consistency will take you very far.
It’s the only choice we really have because there is no finish line. Even when you hit your goal weight, that’s not the end. There’s always another goal, or a skill you can get better at. If you can keep the journey in proper context, focus on the effort at least as much as the results, and enjoy the ups and downs, then, you’ll find balance. Men’s Group • LinkedIn • Instagram • X |
