A recent training session of mine called for me to pickup a heavy sandbag from the ground and lift it up to my shoulder thirty times, as fast as possible. The whole round took 1:17. I could have used a break for sure; I was completely gassed afterwards and had to drop to the floor to recover for a while. Here’s why I was able to do the whole thing non-stop: Before I began, I decided that I was not going to stop no matter what. Then, when I felt like stopping about 2/3 of the way through, it wasn’t even a question up for debate. |
