I hate the word 'but'.

I hate the word 'but'.
It's one of my 'curse words'.
There are almost zero necessary use cases for it.
Instead, replace it with the word 'and'.
Doing this may make you pause and think for a moment about what you're about to say ... and that's exactly the point.
It will make you a MUCH stronger communicator.
It will also help the listener hear what you are trying to say ...
... rather than be distracted by the negative meaning of your 'b-u-t'.
